Dear Characters:

Dear Characters (you know who you are):

One of the best moments when writing fiction is when you guys “decide” to do something contrary to what your author wants you to do. It shows that you’ve become well-developed characters, and like adolescents, are showing some independence.

Moreover, in comedy the readers love it best when the characters do something unpredictable. Which you’ve done, as even I had not predicted THAT.

But it is not funny that you guys have completely rearranged a scene now so that I can’t figure out how to make the next thing happen. Very not funny.

Much love and hot tea,

your author
