New publication: Nativity Herd But Not Scene

New Christian Voices has published my short humor piece, “Nativity Herd But Not Scene.”

It’s about what happens when a family member gets you four pieces of a collectible nativity scene every Christmas…for ten years. 🙂

Enjoy! (And leave comments there so they know how much you love me.)

Edited to add a photo. Click to enjoy the nativity goodness:

This scene is downright sparse if you have ever ridden the NYC subway as the author has.

    elephant??? lol

kiddo has a little people nativity, and a little people santas village, and a billion other little people figures… so they all get mixed together. but at least those are through her creative mixing… rather than intention. lol

the other evening, the manger and baby were sitting in the kitchen of her dollhouse, next to the recliner, with a wise man near him…. a random camel was in the living room with an angel…. and mary and joseph were over on the coffee table with some of the reindeer.

I loved your story. Then I saw this article in today’s Valencia County News Bulletin. Valencia county is a primarily rural area in the central Rio Grande valley in New Mexico, just south of Albuquerque. Here is the link to the story on the paper’s web site.

Your village is actually an ages old Italian tradition.
